Andrew is a Beijing-based social entrepreneur who is the CEO of the NGO Education In Sight, and the Co- Founder of the buy-one-donate-one eyewear brand Mantra. While teaching in rural China, he saw the challenges his students faced, especially those with poor vision who couldn’t see in class. This pushed him to found a non- profit that brought eye exams and glasses to students in schools. Since starting, EIS and Mantra have worked together to deliver over 22,000 pairs of glasses to children in rural China. Andrew is also the Curator of Beijing’s Global Shapers community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum that empowers young leaders.

His key clients include banks, pharmaceuticals and medical device makers operating in Greater China, Japan and Singapore. Previously, Ko was a corporate litigator and practiced regulatory law in international law firms advising banking, life science and technology clients on cross-border and Chinese investments. Ko regularly speaks and writes about technology, public policy and the law, cybersecurity and data privacy in Asia. He also serves on several nonprofit boards and committees concerning the same areas. Ko received a Bachelor of Civil Law (a master’s level degree) from the University of Oxford, and was recognised as an Inter-Pacific Bar Scholar.
